What is the purpose of a Title sequence?

The purpose of a title sequence is to showcase the cast and crew involved in the production. It lets us know who was involved and who created what we're about to watch. This use of Crediting promotes the actor and the main character along with other characters. The title sequence also incorporates the logos and brand names of the institutions involved in creating the film i.e DreamWorks, Paramount and 20th Century Fox.
