The purpose of a Title sequence...

Title Sequences

Title sequences have many purposes. First thing they do is introduce the film and let the audience know what type of genre of film they are watching. Title sequences have evolved over the past few decades and each new type of sequence has found a way to capture the audiences attention and provide entertainment. They are also essential for producers so that they are able to mention the main actor and actresses starring in the film, the staff who assisted in the making of the film and the studio/company who helped make the production happen. title sequences are also known as the film before the film; it infers that the audience will get a main idea of what the film is supposed to be about as well as the mentioned before genre of the film. this helps with advertisement and promotion of the film, but it depends. Some films like the audience to know exactly what is going on in the title sequence whereas some producers like to make the title sequence mysterious and confusing to intrigue the audience to keep watching.
Title sequences are also important because sometimes the directors/editors take parts of it and use it for missing scenes in the film.
