Blogging health check feedback 1.
After reading my feedback I can see the ways in which I need to improve which will be done. I agree with the improvements that should be made and I will improve them before the next lesson. I will also use more apps so that it shows that I have used some effective use of ICT.
6 minute challenge - reflection ideas.
Once the location and the prop that we were going to be using was chosen linking them together to come up with a final idea was quite easy. As a group we all put our ideas together which is another reason why I didn't find the task difficult. I think our idea was extremely successful as we were able to come up with a title and a story board of how each scene was going to be filmed including the shots that we will be using. All in all it was a success however we could improve by using a wider range of camera shots.

Individual idea - Title Sequence.

I would love our title sequence to have an action/thriller theme. The reason for this is because I believe that there can be lots done to make this happen successfully. For our title sequence I want it to be based around someone that has been kidnapped and Crime Scene Investigators are looking for them.
The way in which we will plot this would be back and forth scenes of where the crime scene investigators are plotting and showing how much progress they have made with the kidnap and then it will show another scene of what is actually going on with the missing person. As simple as it sounds we will add special affects, and sound effects or music to set the tone and to help give a clue on what the genre is. There will be a point where the kidnappers are about to kill the person that has gone missing and at that exact same time the Crime Scene Investigators would've finally located where they are so there will be a tense atmosphere and everyone's adrenaline will be rushing + the fast paced music will have a huge influence on that.
My idea along with the groups put together will hopefully finalize our title sequence idea and it should just fall into place. There is a lot that can be done to make this a perfect piece.
Individual Title Sequence Idea
Individual Idea
For our title sequence project i want ours to be a kind of mystery/CSI/kidnapping scene. This fits under the genres of Thriller and Action.
The plot would be something like: A girl goes missing on a Friday night out with her 2 closest friends. She has supposedly been kidnapped? Friends and Family gather together with police and CSI agents at the missing girls house as a ransom video has been delivered, The video has the girl tied up with the masked kidnappers stating their demands:- £100,000 in cash within the next 24 hours or the girl dies. Then there is a whirlwind of discussion and panic.
The agents start interviewing people, there is a tense atmosphere and whilst they are trying too find the location of the missing girl. at the same time she is trying to escape her kidnappers. She does end up escaping but their hot on her tail as she tries to hide in a deserted skate park or woods etc. next to the warehouse she was being kept in. As the countdown to 24 hours is nearly up, everyone's on edge and when it hits 23 hours and 45 minutes is when they finally find the location of the girl after she has been recaptured after trying to escape. It is then a rush and a race against time as the agents and backup try to reach the address in time before its too late...
As you can probably tell i got really into this whilst typing... i really like scenes like this as it always keeps the audience on edge, so i hope that my group get to do something based around this.

Analysing Sound in a Film Opening
Film: Up (2009)
Genre: Animation
This Film has been one of the most iconic animated films made in the past decade due to its amazing and unique opening scene. During the scene there are many different uses of sound that are all brought together to create an enjoyable experience for the audience.
Ambient Sound:- There is not much ambient sound used in this opening scene apart from the beginning where most of the sound comes in. We can hear the background noise whilst the wedding guests start cheering although it may be hard to hear.
Non-Diegetic:- There are a couple uses of non-diegetic sound used in this scene for example, when the wedding guests start clapping and cheering we can see them participating in the action, also at the very beginning of the scene we hear the flash of a camera and then we see it which is why we know where the sound has come from.
Song/Score:- Throughout the scene there is music being played which other that the sound in the beginning is the only other use of sound we hear throughout the scene.
Synchronous:- As mentioned before after the flash of the camera the music and the background noise starts playing at the same time and creates a happy and upbeat affect as there are different sounds coming from different places.
Sound Motif:- The music that is being played throughout the scene matches the emotions of the events going on. For example, when the couple is cloud watching and they find baby clouds in the sky the music is playful and happy, but when they are ijn the hospital room and the doctor has just given them some news about ot being able to have kids the music turns sad and dreary. it then goes back to having a kind of optimistic, thinking feel when they decide to start their dream of going to South America.
Individual Idea
The idea I had in mind is based on a crime scene investigation. I have chosen this idea because I think it would be interesting to create a title sequence based on a CSI. The genre will be a drama, mystery as it fits the whole scenario of 'what happened that night?'. The initial story line will be about someone going missing during the night then found dead the following (early hours) morning. The investigator in charge of the case will be interviewing members of the family, trying to put together the pieces of what could have happened to the missing person. The personalities of the family members will vary as there will be a socialite mother and father that is always working so he wouldn't be around as much, a brother and a sister who only care about themselves and not so much for others. The setting of the crime scene will take place in a dark forest and the interviews will take place in a room at the family house.

Individual Idea for title sequence
My idea will be based around Clowns. Because of a recent rise in scary clown sightings around the time of Halloween, I feel like this would be suitable. The genre it fits the most is Horror and i think this would be one of the easiest genres due to the obvious codes and conventions(Blood and big weapons) which I believe could easily be recreated in my title sequence.
In terms of setting, the horror genre uses settings of of all types but with many being dark or isolated. This could be created by using parks, streets and even a hallway in a house.
The story line could be based around a social group of teenagers playing around and scaring people with masks. Until they come across a real killer clown that is out to get them all. Their personalities will vary as there could be the typical curious characters that end up dying early due to their stupidity. There could also be the smart and wary characters that sense things could go wrong. These characters can have personalities like this throughout their situations when they encounter the killer clown.

Analysing Sound in a film opening
The film I chose to analyse was "You got served".
I like the use of sound in this film opening. There is use of diagetic sound and non-diagetic sound as music is being played and there's also shouting and chanting from the crowd as the two groups dance. Notice the non-diagetic sound which is the music is synchronous as it needs to go with the timing of the dancer's choreography. Overall the sound emphasises the energy in this film opening and makes it much more entertaining and intriguing to watch.

Why Is Sound So Important In Film?
The Importance Of Sound In Film
Sound in film is used to establish tone and atmosphere. It also helps give the audience an idea about the plot and the genre of the film.
George Lucas, director of the Star Wars franchise, argues that sound is 50%. From this he meant that without the sound you only have half of the product which is not a great experience. In terms of developing sound and the design of it there has been a lot pf progression over the course of history. Sound has now become a 3 dimensional visceral experience this make it more enjoyable to watch and listen too.
What is sound?
Sound can be music, speech and sound effects when recorded and used to accompany a film, video, or broadcast. What is a soundscape?
A piece of music considered in terms of its component sounds
What is a sound design?
Sound design is the process of specifying, acquiring manipulating, or generating audio elements
What is 'suspending disbelief'?
To suspend ones critical views and believe the unbelievable for your own enjoyment
The use of sound in a film opening:
Film: High School Musical 2.
Genre: High-school.
Film: High School Musical 2.
Genre: High-school.
- Non-diegetic sound: Piano playing at the beginning, soft. Creating a nice calm atmosphere. Camera shows the school before everyone arrives.
- Diegetic/dialogue: The teacher is teaching the class and speaking about the summer homework they must complete during summer.
- Diegetic sound - Pens tapping on the table as the class start to get impatient waiting for the bell to ring for summer. The sound is like a ticking clock in our head, hearing the the speed of the pen tapping against the table also shows how agitated and impatient the class is getting.
- Sound motif: The sound of the clock ticking is getting louder and is slowly starting to over power the teachers voice. Implies a countdown/impatience as the time for summer is near.
- Diegetic/dialogue: The whole class sigh as the class nerd asks more questions. The sound shows the frustration of the class.
- Non diagetic then Diegetic: One by one each member of the class starts to say Summer as the camera is on the clock ticking then it moves to the pupils saying summer as the time is near.
- Diegetic: The clock rings and everyone throws their papers in the air.
- Score: A song written and sang for the film in particular. Song name: ' What time is it, summer time '.

Four different types of Film openings:
1) Titles on a blank screen:

2) Titles accompanied by still images:
Although this title sequence is not complex it it however more elaborate than the first type of title sequence. In the past the title borders and images were hand drawn. This title sequence was a way of combining the text with a visual image to hint the genre of the movie. With this type of title sequence studios were more willing to develop elaborate title sequences. The use of music also accompanies the still images in hinting what tone/genre the film is.
3) Titles with moving images:
The moving image helps to offer either a metaphor or narrative thread. It also introduces the tone or story line to the audience.
3) Titles with moving images:
The moving image helps to offer either a metaphor or narrative thread. It also introduces the tone or story line to the audience.
4) Titles built around animation and motion graphics:
In the late 1990's the use of animated text in title sequences became popular. With the use of a lot of digital technology and stylized editing the titles were able to become a part of the moving images.
1 - Narrative: The titles are integrated onto the moving image and they begin as the film begins.
2 - Discrete: The titles are integrated onto the moving image but it is still not clear what the story line is.
3 - Stylized: These are highly stylized title sequences.

My favorite type of title sequence:
My favorite type of title sequence is the one built around animation and motion graphics. This is mainly because it is all I have ever known however in general I think this would always be my favorite. The reason for this is because it engages the audience from just the title sequence whilst giving a hint on what genre the film is. I love how the the type face also blends in with the genre and the moving images.

Why is sound so important in film?
Sound is important in giving the audience an atmospheric effect and emphasising the actions of many of the main characters and what they have to say. They use sound in a variety of different ways.
Diagetic sound: This is sound created in the film such as dialogue between characters.
Non-Diagetic sound: This is sound created out of the film such as special effects, sirens, explosions and crashes.
Synchronous: This is when music or sound effects are in sync (happening in time with the film) i.e loud music or the exploding sound happening at the time of the explosion.
Asynchronous: This is the opposite of synchronous. Music or sound effects aren't in sync with the film.
Score: A song written for the purpose of a film.
Different sounds create different effects. Ambient sounds like wind, traffic and water create bigger environments instead of there being no sound with the film. Overall sound plays an important roll in the experience of watching films and creates an atmospheric effect for the audience.

Favourite Genres and their Conventions
My First favourite Genre would be Action. There are many reasons for this but most are due to the conventions linked to this genre. The main conventions for me is the fact that in every action film a mission or objective of some sort has to be completed. This then gives me excitement and hope that by the end of the film it will be complete.
Another convention would be of course the wide variations of weapons. From Guns,RPGs and Grenades, to Blades, Baseball bats or even Spears this keeps action films full of explosions and creates the usual conflict between two sides being the good and the bad.
One of the most common conventions in action films would be the outbursts in settings. Sudden outbreaks through doors, windows and walls keep me awake and ready for anything to happen. This is why action is one of my favourite Genre's.
Some of my favourite Action films are: Kick-ass,Avatar and The Dark Knight.
My next favourite genre is comedy. A convention in this genre would be the lighting. Lighting in comedy films are usually very bright and of different colours to show happiness. This goes the same for the setting so we see what's going on and to create a realistic environment.
Another conventions is the use of diegetic sound and non-diegetic sound. Diegetic sound refers to the sound in film and dialogue between characters. This will need to be loud and clear as the dialogue is one of the most important features of a comedy film in making people laugh. Non-diegetic sound refers to any sound effects that might be added i.e (the whistle type sound when someone is falling from somewhere high). This is added to put an emphasis on certain scenes in the film.
Some of my favourite comedy films are: Superbad, Napoleon Dynamite & House Party.
Another one of my favourite genres is Horror which has many conventions commonly used across all films. The main convention is the setting. They are usually set in small communities or isolated places, urban environments such as large cities, places with dark histories such as haunted houses or an insane asylum.
Their camera work is often very unnatural as it's shot from high and low angles to create fear and unease. POV shots are also used quite often to allow the audience to see through the eyes of a character fearing for their life. It allows the audience to experience what the character is going through. They may also use extreme close ups of the persons's face to express their emotion.
They use low-key lighting and shadows along with the colours black and red to create a dark, evil atmosphere. The use of props is a very common convention as well in terms of weapons. Chainsaws, machetes or axes are the usual props that give the audience an idea of how brutal the death of a character will be. Also the use of masks and the idea of a hidden face creates a sense of fear as the characters don't know who and what they are up against
Some of my favourite horror films are: Insidious, Sinister and Cabin in the woods

Types of Film Openings
Titles on a Blank Screen
Having titles on a blank screen is known as a budget, simple title sequence. These types of titles involve different typefaces usually white on top of a black background as the two colours together have a high contrast. This type of title can give different effects to a film, such as an old fashioned, classic or authentic look to a film.
Titles on Still Image
This style involves having text with a visual image, this can make a title more visually appealing. This kind of sequence is more elaborate than using white text on a plain black background and also requires using different media to achieve the style.
Titles over Moving Images
Titles over a series of moving images can be simple of intricate. For example, images could be of a series of clouds moving. Normally there isn't any dialogue and the images don't mean anything until later on in the film.
Titles using Animation or Motion
Animating text became more and more popular starting in late 1990's.
Favourite film title sequence analysis
The title sequence in this film is great in terms of relating to the film and engaging the audience. I think its a good title sequence because at the beginning its animated to look funky with different fonts that you would see in a school students diary, this suggests to the audience that there will be misbehaved school students. The music that plays along allows the audience to feel the mood that the school has. The sequence switches from animation to reality and instantly invites you to the school, this is done using different types of camera angles and shots, giving the audience a feel to what the setting of film is like. The credit order goes from distributor, producer, cast.

Favourite film title sequence analysis:
I think that the title sequence used in this movie is amazing. It completely relates to the movie and the transition between the cast credit is super cool. It starts of with planes blowing up and cars speeding through and out of the plane whilst its on fire, following this you have the name of the director. Straight away you know the genre of this movie: Action along with the cool upbeat music which keeps us awake and staring at the screen straight away. Next they show who it is written and produced by with a tank in the back of the screen followed by cars flipping which again is relevant to the movie. Whilst they show who the movie is edited by they show a small clip of the movie when vin diesel risks his life and jumps on another car whilst moving which shows the importance of this scene as its also used in the title sequence. The sequence begins with a dark black/navy mid-range shot. This was probably done to submerse the viewer into the location and set a mood for the sequence. The use of mise-en-scene throughout the sequence is highly constructive, the: cars, plans, explosions, tanks including the music form a very clear picture of the genre. There are many edits used in the title sequence from the explosions to the tanks and cars crashing into each other then one vehicle disappearing all whilst the credits are still popping up on the screen.

My Favourite Film
One of my favourite movie trilogy would have to be the Hunger games. I especially love: The Mocking-jay which is the title sequence i have chosen to analyse.
The order of the credits goes as follows:-
- The name of the production company
- The name of the the producers
- The names of the main cast
- The names of the sound, visuals, directors etc.
Everything else is shown in the end credits.
As i could not find the official title sequence the one here is an unofficial one yet quite popular

Conclusions on Title Sequences...
Conclusions on Title Sequences...
The title used in title sequences are usually the most important. In most films the order of title credits goes:
- The name of the studio
- The name of the producer and the production company
- The directors name
- The main actors and actresses
- The title of the film
An then you have things such as:-
- Casting
- Writers
- Editing
- Music
- Costume
- Visual effects etc.
Depending on the importance of something is the size it is shown on the screen in some films. For example the names of the studio and production company could take up majority of the screen whereas the names of the composers would take up a quarter. If the credits are going on whilst there is an action packed Title sequence playing then the audience may not want it blocking the action.
I think that Title Sequences are very important when it comes to films; without it there would be no way to introduce the movie in a creative way that prepares the audience for the real thing. They take alot of skill and time and you can tell they are appreciated by the public.
Two Title Sequence Analysis's
Analysis on 2 Title Sequences
UP
The Disney Pixar film UP is an animated film including the title sequence. The first thing you see when the sequence starts to play is the use of vibrant colours and the different shapes. This has been done to be eye catching bit also to represent the childish nature of the movie. As it is an animated film a lot of editing and special and visual effects have gone into making the title sequence and you can tell many of the ideas were though about profusely; for example the use of proxemics throughout takes the audience on a journey as they follow the house through the clouds that features the names of important staff such as the writers and the screenplay artists.
A big part of this title sequence is the music being played in the background. The track has themes of wonder and happiness which then foreshadows at some of the themes that are going to be shown throughout the film. I really liked the sequence as in a way you could say it was 'short and sweet'. It did what it needed to do and was neither over excessive or dull and boring.
Captain America:The Winter Solider
This title sequence i thought was amazing from using only the colours black, white and red to the graphic styling that has been used. The sequence shows you what the movie is about if you look closely; heroes and villains, these are represented by stars and stripes as well as skulls and weapons.. i liked the use of incorporating the names within the action it helps the audience to be able to see both rather than having them on different sides of the screen. This is a minimalist tittle sequence and we can tell form the shapes and design that has been used to create it.
The music also has an action themed tone ans immediately intrigues the audience and also lets them know what kind of genre of film they are watching. it has a very fast tempo and this could link to the film itself which is what some title sequences intend to do.

What Makes A Good Title Sequence According To Kyle Cooper?
Kyle Cooper:
What Makes A Good Title Sequence?
Kyle Cooper is very famous and important in the film industry. He is solely known as the person who re-vitalised title sequences as an art form.
- He states that what makes a good title sequence is that it seamlessly dub tales into the film properly and that it leaves expectations.
- Another part of having a good title sequence is getting the typography to match to the sequence of your film. The tone should link to the story and do what you want it to say. This can be shown from his most famous title sequence sevyn which is where he the whole idea of extreme motion and tone came in.
Kyle Cooper interview pt. 1/2 title sequence - Watch the Titles
The purpose of a Title sequence...
Title Sequences
Title sequences have many purposes. First thing they do is introduce the film and let the audience know what type of genre of film they are watching. Title sequences have evolved over the past few decades and each new type of sequence has found a way to capture the audiences attention and provide entertainment. They are also essential for producers so that they are able to mention the main actor and actresses starring in the film, the staff who assisted in the making of the film and the studio/company who helped make the production happen. title sequences are also known as the film before the film; it infers that the audience will get a main idea of what the film is supposed to be about as well as the mentioned before genre of the film. this helps with advertisement and promotion of the film, but it depends. Some films like the audience to know exactly what is going on in the title sequence whereas some producers like to make the title sequence mysterious and confusing to intrigue the audience to keep watching.
Title sequences are also important because sometimes the directors/editors take parts of it and use it for missing scenes in the film.

Analysis of two film title sequences
The title sequence for this film was interesting as it goes through all the main actors in the film showing the type of role they play within the film. The fact that the sequence goes along the fuse makes the film look as if its full of adrenaline and action, allowing the audience to get an overview of what type of action goes on later on in the film. The effect that was used for the 'mission: impossible' highlights the actual title of the film allowing the audience to engage. A smoke effect was used for the 'ghost protocol' to make it seem like a mystery or somewhat 'ghostly'. Also the music that played with it went really well.
Godzilla 2014The start of this sequence was of the productions associated with the film. The sequence went along with a timeline of what leads up to what the film will be about, it gives the audience a clear idea and understanding of the storyline being used. The text used was simple, blanking out the words that you don't need to read whilst only leaving the main info of the production. I think this a good title sequence as it engages the audience with dramatic music along with a brief storyline letting the audience know how it all came together through the history.
What makes a good title sequence according to Kyle Cooper
Having a title sequence which sets an expectation of what the film is going to be about, is what Kyle Cooper thinks makes a good title sequence. This is because the title sequence is usually a reflection of what the film will be about, so having a sequence which reflects the theme/setting of the film gives the audience an understanding of what type of movie they will be in for. Also having a particular font that relates back to the movie gives the audience a feel of the film. The typography used should be thought through because it sets the mood of the film and by creating a unique style can also fit the storyline.

- The Production Company
- The Title
One of my favorite childhood films would be Finding Nemo. This film uses a Discrete title sequence. This is when a film plays a short film sequence before the film is introduced. It helps to set the mood for the film or give people and understanding of what is to come in the actual film.
In Finding Nemo, the discrete title sequence would be the introducing of Nemo's parents and what happens to them:
Conclusions on Title Sequences
Majority of films I watch begin with the names of the directors, actors and producers. The size of these names are usually quite small but in some cases get bigger depending on the importance of the person. The font is the same most of the time as well. The Title is always the biggest as it's the most important thing to the viewers which means it has to stand out. The font could be more complex to make it look more meaningful or they may decide to go simple and bold to hit the viewers directly.
Analysing 2 Film Sequences
Fast and Furious 6:
I enjoyed the title sequence for this film and it was quite eye-catching. Their use of special effects and CGI presents the film and the characters in a unique way which also helps give the audience an idea of what type of film they're in for.
The explosions from the cars and revealing guns creates a sense of action and drama. Their bright use of the color red could also represent danger and fear of what could be the main story in this film. I like their use of incorporating the actors, publishers and directors into the effects and even giving the main characters cameos in the title sequence.
Scott Pilgrim:
The title for Scott Pilgrim was also very interesting and eye catching due to the visuals. It starts off with a band performing in a living room but with special visual effects of lightning around them striking in sync with the beat of their song they're performing.
The use of their genre of music and the illustration tells you the film is probably going to be some sort of drama surrounding the band and their music. The colors and animations are bright and strong but random which gives you the idea that anything could happen in this film.

Analyzing two film title sequences:

Spider-Man (2002) - Right from the begging I was instantly drawn to watching the rest of the film. The fast paced music captivated me, especially as a fan of action/fantasy/adventure. Right at the beginning its a comic being flicked until it shows the comic name: Marvel. This is a creative way of showing it and for those who have read the comic before hand may feel happy as there is recognition of it being a comic before the movie. The fast paced edgy music continues throughout the title sequence along with a dark background to imply mystery or evil. The casts names appears on webs which would be expected as the film is names: Spider-Man which is very relevant. When the name of the film appears on the screen it glows which may imply some significance of this character. During the names of the cast popping up and then letter by letter falling off the screen the background takes you through a deep red tunnel and then it stops with a web which is almost as if the web is saving us from falling into something dangerous which again is relevant to the actual movie because spider-man is the 'hero'.
Casino Royale (2006) - The beginning starts of with the actor Daniel Craig playing ' James Bond ' taking a shot towards the screen followed by blood dripping down the camera which instantly lets the audience know what the movie is going to consist of. The music is quite sophisticated and has a jazz feel to it which implies elegance as well as mischief. Whilst the cast names pops up there is also card signs in the back ground for example: hearts, diamonds, spades and clovers. This lets the audience know as well as the name of the movie that it will be based around a card game or the casino which it is. It has guns which shoot the card symbols which again is good way of mixing the two important aspects of the film. Whilst names are still popping up on the screen there is two characters in an animated form fighting each other with knives in hands which also follows to the movie and excites the audience continue watching the action - violence based film.

What makes a good title sequence according to Kyle Cooper?
Kyle Cooper has done over 100 move title sequences in his career. He believes that a good title sequence should set an expectation for the audience. If it does so at the beginning then it already engages the audience even before the film starts. Kyle also believes that you need to be careful with the typography as it needs to relate to the sequence, this is important and clever if done correctly as it gets the audience half understanding what the movie will be about before the movie actually starts.
Kyle cooper also believes a good title sequence can go smoothly into the film. As mentioned before the title sequence should give a slight back ground story of feel to what the film should be about hence why making sure it runs smoothly into the film is important. Being its the " introduction " to the film and not a title sequence for a separate film there should be no reason for a harsh transaction.

Prelim evaluation:
When doing the Prelim it was my first time putting my skills to the test. I learnt how to set up the camera correctly and I also learnt about the 180 degree rule where you cant cross the axis of action. I also developed other skills like learning how to match cut, shot reverse shot and used different shots to show what I had learned. Sticking to the 180 degree rule showed me the importance of filming and the audiences perspective, when you break the 180 degree rule the position of where the characters are placed flips and confuses the audience.
What I thought went really well for me was filming and script writing. There is room for improvement on editing although for my first time I did a decent job. When filming the next prelim to improve we could find a bigger filming space and also before getting the content we actually need in we could do a countdown so the clip is not to rushed in to, this will also come in handy when editing. We also never had enough time to reduce the volume of the background music during the prelim which is anther way in which we can improve. All in all the first prelim was a success.
What is the purpose of a Title sequence?
The purpose of a title sequence is to showcase the cast and crew involved in the production. It lets us know who was involved and who created what we're about to watch. This use of Crediting promotes the actor and the main character along with other characters. The title sequence also incorporates the logos and brand names of the institutions involved in creating the film i.e DreamWorks, Paramount and 20th Century Fox.
Blog Analysis -Maia Set 2 -group 8
Previous Student Blog Analysis
All the blogs that i looked at were amazing and i hope our end blog looks as good as they do however the one blog that stood out from the rest was Maria's blog, Set 2- Group 8. altogether they had a total of 55 blog posts but maria had 90 labels on her own. In each blog post there is a lot of detail and each point is well explained and backed up with evidence. throughout the blog there are many different ICT such as Youtube, Vimeo and Premiere pro. the blog is very easy to navigate and it is easy to know who wrote each blog. It is well presented which means that they have spent alot of time on it and it wasn't rushed. i particularly like the background picture as it relates to their project idea. i like that each blog post leads on from the last one, they all link and there are no gaps in the project sequence. i also like that there was no one person just being the consistent blogger. there was multiple contributions from the whole group, and the grade awarded was a team effort grade.

Purpose of a Title Sequence
A title sequence is the method by which films present their title, key production and cast members.
The purpose of a Title sequence is to show the audience who the cast and the crew involved in the production are. Film openings are used to show the company who the production was made by and also the main cast members.
A film opening can attract an audience by engaging the audience with what is to come within the film, leaving the audience watching because they're curious to know what the film is going to be about. By having the main cast members appearing on screen gives the audience some knowledge of who will be in the film allowing the audience to decide whether the film will be good depending on who will be in it.

Analysis of previous student work
Analysis of previous group 11
http://candititles15group11.blogspot.co.uk/
I picked group 11 as my favourite previous student blog because they have a clear layout of how they post things on to their blog. They have clear titles of what the blog post will be about, for example they have a clear title of their evaluations and storyboard pictures. With the use of different presentations on prezi it also made it easy to read through the blogs.
Analysis of previous student work:
This will be an analysis of Group 3: Lara Henriques-Eyre blog. In this blog she had 80 blog posts. Her work is presented well and clear. You can see everything clearly and she has sub-headings to make it easy to find what we are looking for. She has added relevant pictures to match what she is speaking about in each post. The background has blood which implies her prelim is of the horror genre. this is good as straight away we can detect that. She has used a range of sources so there are different sources that she uses to upload her content. Being she has 80 blog posts we know she has completed all tasks however it is not over board which shows that the bog posts have a good amount of content.
Analysis of Group 28 Blog
I analysed the blog for group 28. I liked their blog as it was very clear and easy to navigate through. I liked their use of different ways to display their work using Prezi, Emaze and Visme. They were also very good with their evaluations on their days of editing and filming as they let us know the problems they faced with this.

Analysis Of Group 10's Prelim Video!
We decided to analyse Group 10's video. There was a good use of smooth match cuts and a cross shot. They also used a close up and a two shot. They used an over the shoulder shot but it would've been good if they followed this up and used a reverse shot to show both sides of the conversation from each character. They also remembered to follow the 180 degree rule which is good. :)
